Good morning folks! Wow, what a crazy fun week this has been. It started out with a trip to the City on Sunday evening. I woke up early on Monday and went to the NYC wholesale flower market where I picked up all of my very favorite blooms. I got peach color French Tulips, big and fat long-stem variegated orange and yellow French Tulips, Creme de la Creme Roses, David Austin Juliet Roses, and pinky-yellow Hypericum Berries. I met up with a dear, long-time friend on Monday afternoon and returned to the Country for a fun photo shoot. So as you can see, I have transformed my look enough that my old social media photos are completely irrelevant. (Seriously, I went to the AD Home Show a few weeks ago and no one recognized me.) Anyway, I was lucky enough to have my friend Lysette Drumgold come up from NYC to do my hair and make-up. She also acted at a second set of eyes to make sure the photos were as good as could be. And speaking of the photos, Amanda Young from Swoon Over It photography did an amazing job. As you might recall, Amanda took my social media head shots a few years ago when I went from blonde to super dark with my hair. Not only is she the sweetest person -so I felt really comfortable in front of the camera- but she also knew in a heartbeat just how to capture the mood that I was going for. Amanda totally gets it, and I can not wait to see the final results!Today I’ll be cleaning up the remnants of the photo shoot and preparing for house guests that arrive this weekend. My cousins are coming in from Michigan for a little early Spring visit. I can not wait to host them! And speaking of being a hostess, I have also been asked to guest host the #DesignLux chat on Twitter this afternoon. (1pm PST/4pm) The topic: Country Houses! So whether you dream of a grand country estate or a tiny farmhouse, a cottage in the woods, a lakeside retreat or a cabin on a mountain top – we’ll be on Twitter talking about it – please join us.
