During my coffee this morning I stumbled into my incoming traffic stream on google +. This doesn’t happen very often, as I have not quite figured out the point of adding yet another social media stream to my already busy internet life. But boy-oh-boy am I happy I signed in today!Thankfully I was reminded of the beautiful woodwork made by Blackcreek Mercantile and Trading, Co. Each of their pieces are handmade in Kingston, New York by an artisan woodworker named Joshua Vogel. While I happen to favor the cutting boards, he also makes beautifully hand-turned pieces as well.Every cutting board is different because they are each made from a single piece of wood – meaning there is no glue used on the piece and there are no seams. The boards are made in limited edition batches of domestic hardwood that are sustainably harvested that maximize material and minimize waste. I’d love to see an entire collection of these cutting boards hanging on our shaker peg rail in the kitchen or laundry room-pantry area.Learn more about Blackcreek Mercantile and Trading, Co. via their blog, website, Google +, facebook, Twitter, or shop.
