If you’ve been following the ABCD sketch book for a while – you know (quite well) that we’ve been living like nomads since the Spring of 2009. Clearly, this housing situation has not been exactly ideal for a gal who writes a sketch book about all things nesting and home related, now has it?
I am happy to say that there truly is an end in sight. The movers are scheduled to arrive at 8am today. For the first time in my life, I’m going to be an Uptown Girl! I never thought I’d want to move all the way up there, but for a shorter commute to the country, two wood burning fireplaces, and an antique copper lined skylight in the kitchen – I move – in a New York minute! I suppose I had best get started on our moving announcement designs…
I promise, you won’t see another ‘we’re moving’ post from me here for a good long while. We’ve signed a three year lease on this pretty new City space. It’s true, three years may seem like a big commitment for a renter – but we love it that much! It honestly feels like it could be our forever apartment.
Things are coming along nicely with the country house too. I’ll be there to accept delivery of our kitchen cabinets on Wednesday with installation scheduled to start on Thursday. Don’t you worry, I have plenty to keep me busy while I am stuck at home with the workmen. All (as in every single piece) of my clothing is in the Country right now. I plan to sort through them, donate some, move some back to the City, and get myself totally organized.
It is such a tease to have the kitchen delivered so close to Thanksgiving. We might have the cabinets installed in time for turkey, but we won’t have counter tops by then. Not to mention, the appliance company ran out of the color stove I wanted and it’s on three week back order. Such is life.
